Dr. Nahrwar, Specialist Physician and Clinical Haematologist at Melomed Tokai, was born and raised in the Netherlands.

Since early life he has had a broad interest in science with special interest in prehistory, astronomy and quantum physics. This was later followed by a keen interest in mathematics, biology and chemistry.

His pre-graduate medicine studies were completed in Leuven (Belgium) in 1998 and is post-graduate Specialist Physician training completed in 2007. He has been a certified Clinical Haematologist since 2010 with special interest in general haematology including anaemias, platelet abnormalities, clotting disorders, immune cell disorders, blood/bone marrow/lymph node cancers and Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation.

He enjoys teaching, regularly attends local and international conferences and has an in-service teaching program in the hospital for nurses who are pivotal in the health care system.

Dr. Nahrwar also co-chair’s antimicrobial stewardship meetings at Melomed Tokai, trying to harness our most important common invisible enemy: micro-organisms.
